LANIER LAUNCHES LD360/LD370/LD380/LD390 SERIES HIGH-VOLUME DIGITAL

IMAGING SYSTEMS

Up To 90 Pages Per Minute Printing Expands Productivity While Functionality Delivers

Superior Performance

West Caldwell, N.J., June 18, 2009 – Lanier has announced its new

LD360/LD370/LD380/LD390 Series of black-and-white multifunction products (MFPs), among

the most competitive, technologically advanced high-volume MFPs on the market. The series

features an array of advanced functionalities, comprehensive security capabilities and

professional finishing options to efficiently manage every aspect of the document workflow. The

devices combine speed and quality to ensure top-notch productivity and performance that today’s

large workgroups require, and augment an already strong Lanier high-volume product line.

The LD360/LD370/LD380/LD390 Series provides exceptional value to customers via faster print

speeds, quick warm-up times and larger paper tray capacities to increase day-to-day productivity.

With speeds of 60 pages per minute (ppm), 70 ppm, 80 ppm and 90 ppm, respectively, the series

gets more done in less time. The series cuts down wait time with warm-up times from Power Off

starting at 30 seconds for the LD360, and first copy speeds, ranging from 3.3 seconds to 4.2

seconds (depending on device). Standard paper capacity is an ample 4,300 sheets, including dual

front-loading paper trays able to hold 550 sheets each.

With the new 150-sheet color single pass duplex scanner, clocking in with speeds of up to 55

color originals-per-minute and 80 monochrome originals-per-minute, scanning jobs can be

completed in a fast and efficient manner. Users can also produce crisp, professional documents

with 1200 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) resolution, perfect for high quality newsletters, legal

documents or patient records. Keeping the environment in mind, the

LD360/LD370/LD380/LD390 Series is equipped with standard duplexing to cut down on paper

use and energy save mode. Ninety percent of the energy consumed by a copier is used when it is

idle; however, with the energy save mode the unit goes into low power mode after 15 minutes of

non-use.

The LD360/LD370/LD380/LD390 Series helps streamline document management by offering

features that simply make sense, from document capture and distribution, to storage and

management, to cost and assessment. Understanding that different workspaces have different

needs, Lanier equipped the new MFPs with the Java-compatible Software Development Kit

(SDK) to enable users to create specialized custom applications. The devices also feature

Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) to directly search local databases and quickly

locate Scan-to-Email addresses. The Stored Print option speeds up the process of reprinting by

locking in document configurations without the need to re-process files or re-program settings.

Optional facsimile hardware comes equipped with LAN faxing, enabling users to send

documents to a fax number directly from the desktop. In addition, incoming faxes can be

forwarded to a desktop or network folder, preventing documents from sitting in the fax machine

outbox.

The LD360/LD370/LD380/LD390 Series gets the job done right with a variety of optional

finishing units, enabling businesses to tailor the devices to suit workgroup needs. Customers in

legal, financial and educational industries will benefit from the new in-line FD5000 Multi-Fold

Unit. The unit offers six different types of folds including Z-Fold, Letter Fold-in (tri-fold), Letter

Fold-out (tri-fold), Gate Fold and Double Parallel Fold (four-fold) which enhance Lanier’s

current finishing offerings. Users also can produce saddle stitched booklets for students or clients

quickly and cost-effectively with the BK5010 Production Booklet Maker. In addition, for

proposals, presentations and other professional documents, users can energize black-and-white

documents with pre-printed full-color covers using the Cover Interposer.

Understanding that workgroups of all sizes must be vigilant against document theft, Lanier

equipped the LD360/LD370/LD380/LD390 Series with cutting-edge security measures. To

maintain productivity without sacrificing security, the devices use a Card Authentication

Package, a feature that enables users to authenticate network credentials with the simple swipe of

a card, automatically identifying the user and cutting down on the time needed to manually input

user information into the MFP's interface. The LD360/LD370/LD380/LD390 Series also defends

documents against hard drive theft with the DataOverwriteSecurity System (DOSS) which erases

latent image data after every print job. Users can encrypt sensitive PDFs and even encrypt PDF

transmission to protect documents as they are passed from person-to-person. Unauthorized Copy

Control, which embeds a masking pattern that obscures copies if users attempt to duplicate

originals, and Locked Print, which only releases documents for output after a user has entered an

authorized password, also keep documents confidential and in the hands of approved users.
